Back to School Bash planned for Saturday

Christ Community Church, located at 219 Berry Road, Fredonia, is hosting a Back to School Bash on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. Students can get ready for school with FREE school supplies, haircuts, and sneaker raffles. The event also features free food, bounce houses, carnival games and crafts.

Elks Club Polish dinner Saturday

The Dunkirk Elks members are inviting community members to their lodge, located at 428 Central Ave., on Saturday for a Polish dinner. Patrons will enjoy delicious homemade pierogi and galumpki, along with Polish sausage, salad and roll with butter.

The cost for this great meal is $10 for adults (18 years and older), and $5 for children (10 years and younger). Tickets may be purchased presale at the Lodge and will be available at the door. Dinner will begin to be served at 5 p.m. and the kitchen will close at 7:30 p.m.

Elks members look forward to serving the patrons and appreciate the public’s support.

Weavers Guild August Meeting

Chautauqua County Weavers Guild will hold its next meeting Saturday at 10 a.m. at the YWCA in Westfield. Members will start planning their next weaving project using information presented at previous meetings. Anyone interested in weaving or the guild is welcome to attend. Greystone Nature Preserve news

The Greystone Nature Preserve, located at 8531 Bear Lake Road, Fredonia, will hold two programs on Saturday.

At 1 p.m., the Greystone Nature Preserve will team with the Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District to present a program on the Lake Erie Watershed, including a creek exploration and a working model of the Lake Erie Watershed Creek.

At 6:30 p.m., return to the Greystone Nature Preserve for a Bat Watch. Enjoy a spectacular sunset over Lake Erie and gain understanding of bats by first-hand experience. The event includes strolls and an old-fashioned campfire. This is a donation-based event. For details about these and other Greystone Nature Preserve activities, call 679-6603.

Collins Public Library presents special

performance today

Collins Public Library will present a special performance by “Danny on the Keys,” in memory of Gary Sprague today at 7 p.m., The library is located at 2341 Main St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Call 532-5129 for details. There is no charge, but free will offerings are accepted.
