Outpatient services closed on Labor Day

Please be advised that outpatient services at all Brooks Memorial Hospital and TLC Health Network campuses and clinics will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3 in observation of Labor Day.

Silver Creek seeking Planning Board members

The village of Silver Creek is looking for replacing two members of its Planning Board. The board meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. It’s an open forum meeting, which means anyone in the public may attend. If someone is interested, they are encouraged to speak with current board members at one of these meetings.

South Dayton American Legion Post

No. 1593 fund-raiser dinner set for Thursday

South Dayton American Legion Post No. 1593 will hold a fund-raiser dinner on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Post, 4 Mill St. The cost is $8 for a liver and onions dinner with sides or homemade mac-n-cheese with a deluxe hot dog on bun. Both dinners include salad and dessert. All proceeds benefit Post No. 1593.

Home tour tickets available

On Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. you will be able to tour five fantastic Dunkirk Homes. Tickets will be $20 with all proceeds benefitting the Dunkirk Historical Museum located at 513 Washington Ave.

Tickets may be purchased at the following locations: Dunkirk Free Library at 536 Central Ave., P & G Foods at 411 Central Ave., One Stop Big Rick’s Food Mart & Deli at 327 Lake Shore Drive E. and the Dunkirk Historical Museum at 513 Washington Ave.

Please note that if you are a member of the Historical Society, you are entitled to a $5 discount, but you must purchase the ticket at the Museum. No tickets will be sold at the houses on the day of the tour.

First Ward Falcon Club annual

street dance weekend

The First Ward Falcon Club, located at 341 Lake Shore Drive E., Dunkirk, will host its annual street dance this weekend.

Tonight, the whole family is invited to the outdoor children’s movie at dusk in the Serval Street parking lot. Munchies will be provided. This event is free to the public and takes place weather permitting.

On Saturday from 7-11 p.m., enjoy live outdoor music will be provided by the “Roadrunners Band.” The group plays music from the past and present. All in attendance can dance and listen to their favorite tunes.

On Sunday from 7-11 p.m., live outdoor music for all ages will be provided by “Rocketship 7.” Dance and listen to this awesome group.

Food and refreshment vendors will be available all weekend. This is an outdoor event. Inclement weather may force bands to perform indoors.

Start Sunday off right with a chicken barbecue dinner prepared by Weidner’s Barbecue. The cost is $10 with eat in or take out dinner options sold from noon until sold out. Pre-sale tickets are available at the Club.
