Disability Awareness Awards to be presented by The Resource Center

Today, Oct. 30, the 30th annual Disability Awareness Awards will be presented by The Resource Center at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center, 30 Lake Shore Drive E., Dunkirk. Appetizers are scheduled for 5 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m. The cost is $25 per person.

Hunting for Halloween,harvest-themed homes

Trick or BOOK! at Ahira Hall Library

The Ahira Hall Memorial Library will host its 9th annual Trick or Book event during the Village of Brocton’s Trick or Treat hours, 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Stop in for a free children’s book and gift bag, show off your costumes, and meet the library staff, Board of Trustees members and volunteers. The library is located at 37 W. Main St., Brocton. Healthy Heart workshop to be held Wednesday

The next Healthy Heart workshop will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, located on 319 Washington St., Dunkirk. All are invited to learn about heart healthy diets and food preparation. The workshop begins at 5 p.m. and generally lasts between 60 to 90 minutes. Each month a new kitchen item is given away. Limited seating is available.

Cherry Creek Library November events

The Cherry Creek Library, located at 6778 Main St., will hold Story Hours at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 3, 10 and 24. On Saturday, Nov. 17, the library will offer the movie “Alice in Wonderland” at 10 a.m.

Clean, Sober and Saved fund-raiser hot dog sale Nov. 3

Clean, Sober and Saved will hold a fund-raiser hot dog sale on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South Dayton Supermarket, 303 Pine St. $3 includes hot dog with choice of condiments, side, drink and dessert. All proceeds benefit the purchase of new group materials and workbooks for Clean, Sober and Saved. For details, call Percy at 532-1410.
