Business Club seeking nominations

The State University of New York at Fredonia’s Business Club is accepting nominations for the 41st Annual Business Person of the Year Award, to be awarded in spring 2019. Chautauqua Opportunities Alzheimer Services

Are you a care partner for someone with memory loss? Are you looking for tips to manage responsibilities and stress during the holidays? Come to a Chautauqua Opportunities workshop on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dunkirk Public Library, 536 Central Ave., Dunkirk. RSVP by calling: 366-3335 ext. 1236 or 661-9430 ext. 1236. Valley Historical Society to meet Tuesday

The Valley Historical Society will meet for the annual Christmas dinner and meeting on Tuesday, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the fellowship hall of the South Stockton Wayside Chapel, 5537 Route 380, Sinclairville.

All attendees are asked to bring a dish of food to pass as well as their own table service. Coffee will be provided. Members will share stories of their historical research and an election of officers will be held. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend. For more information, call 985-4870.

Pomfret ZBA to

reconvene hearing

The Town of Pomfret Zoning Board of Appeals will reconvene Hearing No. 08-18 regarding a variance for the purpose of building a single story, single family dwelling on vacant property located across the street from 10355 4th Street, Van Buren Bay, owned by Larry DeJonghe. The meeting will continue Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town of Pomfret Offices, 9 Day St., Fredonia.

Christmas lights

contest planned

South Dayton residents are being encouraged to light up the holidays by decorating the outside of their home for the best all around Christmas Decorations’ contest. The event is being sponsored by Cattaraugus County Bank’s South Dayton branch. First place is $30, second place is $20 and third place is $10. No sign up is needed to enter and judging will be Dec. 19 and 20.

Winners will be announced at the Gazebo on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m.

Chautauqua County Planning Board to meet

The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Building A Meeting Room of the BOCES Hewes Center, 2615 North Maple Ave., Ashville. All meetings of the County Planning Board are open to the public.

North Collins Central School District Holiday Concert set for Thursday

The North Collins Central School District Holiday Concert will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. in the 2045 School St. Auditorium. The event is free.

Town Hall news

Perrysburg Town Hall is an E-ZPass retail location.

Looking for a stocking stuffer? You can purchase an E-ZPass tag for $25 at the Perrysburg Town Hall, 10460 Peck Hill Road. With the E-ZPass tag you receive a five percent savings on Thruway tolls and E-ZPass discounts on other roadways. The tag is accepted at 15 states in the E-ZPass network.

If you own more than one vehicle, each account can have up to four tags. If you already have an E-ZPass account, you can purchase a tag to add to your existing account.

E-ZPass makes a great gift for anyone that uses the Thruway system including college students, family and friends!
