Fredonia Central School Winter Concerts

The Fredonia Central School will offer a number of winter concerts in the coming weeks. The school is located at 425 E. Main St.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Elementary Winter Concert No. 1 will include performances of the Third and Fourth Grade choruses and Select Chorus. The snow date is Wednesday, Dec. 5.

On Friday, Dec. 7, Elementary Winter Concert No. 2 will feature the First and Second Grade Choruses at 1:30 p.m. The snow date is Monday, Dec. 10.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, the Middle School Winter Concert will take place 6/7:15 p.m. Performing groups include Jazz Band, Mixed Chorus, Hillbilly Harmonics, Choraliers, MS Bands and MS Orchestras. The snow date is Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Tuesday, Dec. 18 the High School Winter Concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Featured musical groups include Jazz Ensemble, String Orchestra, Chamber Choir, Madrigals Singers and Symphonic Band. The snow date is Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Business Club seeking nominations

The State University of New York at Fredonia’s Business Club is accepting nominations for the 41st Annual Business Person of the Year Award, to be awarded in spring 2019. For nomination forms, please contact Social Media and Marketing Coordinator Sidney Mack at mack2934@fredonia.edu or call (585)645-7446. All entities must be submitted no later than Dec. 7.

Pomfret ZBA to reconvene hearing today

The Town of Pomfret Zoning Board of Appeals will reconvene Hearing No. 08-18 regarding a variance for the purpose of building a single story, single family dwelling on vacant property located across the street from 10355 4th Street, Van Buren Bay, owned by Larry DeJonghe. The meeting will continue today at 6:30 p.m. at the Town of Pomfret Offices, 9 Day St., Fredonia.

Valley Historical Society to meet today

The Valley Historical Society will meet for the annual Christmas dinner and meeting today at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the fellowship hall of the South Stockton Wayside Chapel, 5537 Route 380, Sinclairville.

All attendees are asked to bring a dish of food to pass as well as their own table service. Coffee will be provided. Members will share stories of their historical research and an election of officers will be held. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend. For more information, call 985-4870.
