Brocton seeks applicant for School Board

The Brocton Central School Board of Education is seeking an individual to fill the unexpired board seat recently vacated by the resignation of Thomas DeJoe. The Board will accept letters of interest directed to Superintendent Jason C. Delcamp, at 138 West Main Street, Brocton NY 14716 until Friday, Dec. 21.

Ripley Renaissance Committee hosts Craft and Vendor Fair

A Craft and Vendor Fair will take place in the Ripley Central School Gymnasium, 14 Ross St., Ripley on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This day of fun, food and shopping is sponsored by the Ripley Renaissance Committee, dedicated to bringing Ripley together in a renewed sense of community. American Legion Post 59 hosts party for Army vs. Navy game today

The American Legion Post 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia will be sponsoring a party for the Army vs. Navy game today at 2 p.m. come cheer on your favorite team with football, snacks and fun for members and guest.

Lakeshore Humane Society holds Pet Adoption Day

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Pet Adoption Day/Open House at its Adoption Center today, Dec. 8 from 12 to 4 p.m. The center is located at 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. Come to see the facility, and meet some of the dogs and cats who need caring homes.

If unable to come to an Adoption Day, please call 672-1991 to arrange an appointment to see the dogs and cats awaiting adoption. (You must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet.) Also, LHS will hold an “Adoption Evening” on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.

While at the LHS Adoption Center, check out the “Cat’s Meow” Boutique, where you can find pet-related gift items, while supporting the Lakeshore Humane Society!

“Christmas on the Lake” planned for Sunday

“Christmas on the Lake” will be held Sunday, Dec. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel, 30 Lake Shore Drive E., Dunkirk. Admission is free. Patrons can purchase specially prepared lunches from the Clarion. The event features a wide selection of unique handmade crafts – fresh greenery, baked goods, candy, jewelry, handmade pens, pottery, knitwear, glassware and more.

The Adams to hold Holiday Market Sunday

The Adams, located at 600 Central Ave., Dunkirk, has announced it is holding a holiday market Sunday Dec 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will be selling jewelry, oils, rocks, and there will be a baker, too. Bring the whole family to find that special gift.
