Dunkirk Board of Education meeting Thursday at School 5
The Dunkirk Board of Education will hold its regular December meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13 in the School Five Cafeteria, 115 Brigham Road. It will NOT be in the high school large instructional room at 6:30 p.m. as previously reported by the OBSERVER.
Soil & Water Conservation District Directors to meet
On Wednesday, Dec. 12 at noon. the Chautauqua County Soil & Water Conservation District Directors’ with hold their regular meeting at Chautauqua County SWCD, Northcrest Business Park, 220 Fluvanna Ave. Suite 600 in Jamestown.
Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary plans Christmas party
The Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary will hold its Christmas party on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the club room, 1 Mullet St., Dunkirk. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass and a Secret Santa gift to exchange. A brief meeting will follow up.
Dunkirk Public Library children’s events scheduled
The Dunkirk Public Library, located at 509 Central Ave., will feature a Kids Christmas Crafts at the library on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children 2 to 10 years old can create five ornaments and a snowflake necklace to keep or give as gifts. Refreshments will be provided. Free and open to the public. No registration is needed. For details, call 366-2511.
Kids’ Maker Space for Winter Recess will be available during library hours Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Dec. 27 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday Dec. 28 and Saturday, Dec. 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Craft materials will be made available for kids 2 to 10 years old to create anything they can think of from their imagination. No registration is required, just drop by.

Fredonia Food Pantry open Dec. 15
On Saturday, Dec. 15, The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.
Community Sing-Along set for Dec. 12 in Fredonia
A Community Sing-Along will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at the Fredonia Grange No. 1, 58 W. Main St., Fredonia. Join in a good old campfire sing-along in an indoor setting. All voices are welcome; the event is free for all. For details, call Joe at 679-8426.
Stockton holding community Christmas lighting contest
The Town of Stockton Planning Board is holding a town-wide community Christmas lighting contest, which also includes the village of Cassadaga. No entry fee is required. Applications are available at the Stockton and Cassadaga libraries or the Town Clerk’s office. Completed applications can be returned to any of these locations by Tuesday, Dec. 18. Contest judging will take place at 6 p.m. on or after Thursday, Dec. 20.

The Dunkirk Citizens Advisory Board monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room on the second floor.
CASAC presents: ‘Medicinal Cannabis vs. Recreational Marijuana Panel Discussion’
