Pine Valley CSD Capital Improvement Committee meeting rescheduled to today

SOUTH DAYTON — Due to inclement weather, the Pine Valley Central School District has rescheduled its Capital Improvement Committee meeting. The meeting will be held today from 6-8 p.m. in the Elementary School Boardroom. School administrators, Board of Education members and representatives from Gordon W. Jones Associates Architects, P.C., will be present to gather feedback from the public and answer questions.

The event is the first in a series of open meetings that will examine the District’s Building Conditions Survey. The committee will ultimately make recommendations for the scope of future projects. Topics that will be explored include safety, accessibility, general maintenance and enhancements to educational programs.

PPD Sewer Board meeting set for Tuesday

There will be a meeting of the Portland Pomfret Dunkirk Sewer Board of Directors. The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 12 at 3 p.m. at the Town of Dunkirk meeting room on Willow Road. The meeting is open to the public.

Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary

The Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary will hold a meeting Wednesday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the club room, 1 Mullet St., Dunkirk. Upcoming events will be discussed.

Community Sing-Along planned for Wednesday

A Community Sing-Along will be held Wednesday, March 13 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at the Fredonia Grange No. 1, 58 W. Main St., Fredonia. Join in a good old campfire sing-along in an indoor setting. All voices are welcome; the event is free for all. For details, call Joe at 679-8426.

JCC will celebrate

opening of music facility

JAMESTOWN — Jamestown Community College will celebrate the opening of its renovated and enhanced music facility during a noontime program on March 13.

The event, free and open to the public, will be held in the music wing located on the first floor of Sheldon Center.

Tours of studios and classrooms, as well as live music performances, will be featured during the program.

JCC offers degrees in fine arts: music and music industry and a certificate in digital audio production.

Deadline approaching for Dunkirk Memorial Legion Post 62 100th anniversary tickets

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 will be hosting the American Legion’s 100th Anniversary centennial dinner for members and guests on Saturday, March 23. The event includes appetizers, open bar, family-style dinner, short program and music by the John Cross Swingtime Band. Presale tickets are available now through March 8 for $30 (regular price is $35) at Post 62, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk. The reservation deadline is March 15.

E. Dunkirk Ladies Auxiliary Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue set for March 13

The E. Dunkirk Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue on Wednesday, March 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The event will take place at the E. Dunkirk Fire Hall, 10949 S. Roberts Road, Dunkirk. The cost is $10 per dinner. Dining options include eat in or take out using speedy drive-through. Call Julie at 680-2729 for details.

Son’s of American Legion Squad 59 to meet March 12

The Son’s of American Legion Squad 59 will be holding their monthly meeting, Tuesday March 12 at 7 p.m. at Post 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia.

Commander Rod Dziduch will announced that the family picnic will be Aug. 10 this year. Russell Joy Park has been reserved and plans for this year’s event will be discussed.

All SAL are encouraged to attend the meetings which are held on the second Tuesday of every month.
