Farnham clock funds included in budget

BUFFALO — Erie County Legislator John Mills has secured $1,000 for the village of Farnham after receiving a request to support a special commemoration project. The funding was approved at the annual budget meeting on Dec. 6.

“This was a unique request and one that I was pleased my colleagues supported. The village of Farnham will celebrate its 125th anniversary next year and to help mark the occasion, Erie County has granted $1,000 to erect a new clock,” said Legislator Mills.

“We are extremely grateful to Chairman John Mills and the Erie County Legislature for their commitment to help the village of Farnham with our Post Clock project as we prepare to celebrate our 125th anniversary in 2017. As the smallest village in Erie County it’s often difficult to raise funding for special projects, but not impossible, thanks to support such as this,” said Farnham Mayor Jere Hoisington.

The funding was added into the 2017 budget without raising the bottom line, in fact the Legislature lowered the property tax rate. The Legislators encourage the county executive to support the funding.
