Brocton native to be part of inaugural parade

Brocton native Tyler DeJoe, a cadet at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, will be a part of United States history today.

DeJoe is marching with the VMI Corps of Cadets during the inaugural parade today in Washington. His corps is expected to go live with parade coverage around 4:25 p.m.

“He plays the trumpet,” said Tyler’s dad Jason in an article last year when VMI was in the Rose Bowl parade. “He’s been playing since sixth grade; he was in band at Brocton Central School (from where) he graduated in 2014 (as the Valedictorian).”

President Donald Trump was to be inaugurated around noon today in Washington.

Previously, VMI took part in the last three inauguration parades and has been a part of 14 total parades.
