Eyes on the state
Brian Stratton, director of the New York State Canal Corp., made a presentation on Thursday to the Rotary Club of Fredonia regarding Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s State of the State agenda. Stratton, who also did a presentation later in the afternoon in Jamestown, highlighted funding initiatives by the governor as well as some regional funding for Western New York. Those include $5 million for the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, another $1 billion for Buffalo and Niagara Falls economic and cultural projects as well as a free tuition proposal that would benefit middle-class residents. About 60 people attended the event, which was held at the Beaver Club on Prospect Street.
