Dunkirk man accused of crack cocaine possession

A Dunkirk man has been arrested for allegedly having illegal drugs in his possession after he was captured following a foot chase.

According to the Dunkirk Police Department, officers responded to a Grant Avenue residence and Larry E. Brooks Jr., 39, of 438 Deer St. was reportedly observed by police running from the area.

He was reportedly taken into custody a short distance away after running from police and was allegedly found to be in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine.

He is to be arraigned in Dunkirk City court for third-degree and fourth-degree felony criminal possession of a controlled substance; two counts of first-degree criminal contempt, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment.
