Meeting Wednesday for Brocton funding

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation and Improvement Corporation (CHRIC) has been awarded $242,235 in NY Main Street Funds by the Housing Trust Fund Corp., in conjunction with the Office of Community Renewal, towards addressing economic development and revitalization in the village of Brocton.

This program will be targeted toward Brocton Main Street businesses in an effort to bolster business success and growth in the downtown area. These funds are intended to contribute to the preservation of the significant or historic buildings located there, while incentivizing private reinvestment and facilitating adaptive reuse of this once vibrant, beautiful area.

Grant funds will be used to bring exterior unification to commercial storefronts while addressing code requirements, accessibility and energy efficiency. Additional funds will also be made available to address second-floor residential units, ensuring safe affordable housing and strengthening social and economic vitality.

CHRIC will host an informational meeting to acquaint Brocton Main Street business owners with grant specifics and eligibility qualifications at the Brocton American Legion J. W. Dill Post 434, located at 110 W. Main St., Brocton, Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m.
