Train strikes car in Pomfret

After reportedly moving a road closed barrier, a 20-year-old female got her vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks in Pomfret on Berry Road. The driver departed the vehicle on the tracks as it later met a train traveling westbound.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the car-train collision on Saturday at 5:20 p.m. Driver Kayla Boedner, of Fredonia, was charged with failure to obey a traffic control device, due to moving the road closed barrier. No one was injured at the scene and Boedner will appear in Fredonia Village Court at a later date.
