Dunkirk readies for homecoming festivities

OBSERVER Photo by Damian Sebouhian: Ivonne Ortiz, president of Dunkirk High School student council and student representative at the school board announced the theme for this year’s Homecoming celebration: Once a Marauder, Always a Marauder. “We decided to have food trucks this year and a theme that everyone could relate to,” Ortiz said. “We think it will bring the community together; it will also be fun for everybody.” Homecoming is scheduled for this Friday with a 7 p.m. kickoff to the football game. Food trucks will be parked in front of Dunkirk High School, with parking available at the Plover Street lot at 4 p.m. Vendors include: Lloyds, Lomo Lomo, Chef’s, J & L BBQ and Coldstone Creamery. DJ Chris Rivera will provide the music. Homecoming is a joint production of Dunkirk High School Student Council and the city of Dunkirk.
