Spaghetti dinner to benefit Mayville man battling ALS
MAYVILLE — ERA Team VP Real Estate & Vacation Rentals staff and agents invite the community to a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chautauqua Fire Department, 2 Royal Way, Mayville, NY to benefit Dave and Anne Walters of Mayville. Anne Walters, a 15-year employee of ERA Team VP, learned her husband Dave was battling ALS in 2016.
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, eventually leading to difficulties in moving, swallowing or talking. Patients in later stages of the disease can become totally paralyzed and breakdowns of brain cells can lead to death, according to the ALS Association.
The event will feature a pasta dinner, a Chinese auction, a 50-50 raffle, and a bake sale. All proceeds will go to help offset the Walters’ expenses due to this devastating disease.
Tickets can be purchased for $10 per person, children 5 and under are free. Takeout’s will also be available.
