Two charged after Jamestown traffic stop

JAMESTOWN — A traffic stop led to an illegal weapons charge and a fugitive of justice charge for two city residents Thursday morning.

Police report during patrol on the south side, they stopped a vehicle for failing to signal at a turn. During the investigation, officers learned the operator of the vehicle, Merry B.A. Bills, 35, was wanted in Nebraska for possession of a controlled substance and dangerous drugs. Bills was charged as a fugitive of justice while passenger Brandon Murphy, 22, was charged with possessing a kung fu star, which is illegal in New York state.

Both were transported to city jail and were to be arraigned.
