Horatio G. and Julia A. Brooks were everyday people who cared deeply, served extraordinarily and honored every person they met. Their legacy was left to today’s leadership at Brooks and continues to care for patients today, as the hospital honors them, by caring for one another. In gratitude for their service to the community, each year, Brooks Memorial Hospital recently recognized employees who emulate this strength of character.

Six 2017 Heart of Brooks recipients earned this honor by nomination of a peer or manager for demonstrating the hospital’s I-CARE (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) values throughout the past year. Considered role models, these individuals have shown honor in the face of adversity, set an example by sacrificial service and demonstrated leadership by modeling unwavering support for the vision at hand. These distinguished individuals are:

Pamela Barter, finance; Stacy Korzenieski, finance; Gail Masiker, laboratory; Nancy Morey, case management; Amy Ricotta, laboratory ; and Judith Wach, physical therapy.
