Car takes out power line in Fredonia

A vehicle struck a utility pole on Johnson Street in the town of Pomfret Sunday around 4:15 p.m., causing power lines to dislodges in the street. New York State Police at Fredonia, Fredonia Police and Fredonia Fire Department responded. The two occupants of the vehicle reported injuries. According to State Police, the accident was not weather-related and the driver was issued a traffic citation. No power was lost as a result of the accident and National Grid responded to repair the damage. A section of the street was closed until wires were removed from the street.
