Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council plans Veterans Day event

The Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council is hosting a Veterans Day 2017 Service on Saturday at the Applebee’s Restaurant on Vineyard Drive, Dunkirk. The event will begin around 11:40 a.m.

The council will accord full honors with flags for all branches of service, rifle volleys, Taps and POW/MIA Table.

Tonia Piede will commence the service with the singing of the National Anthem. The POW/MIA Table Ceremony will be presented by Rhonda Daminski past president VFW Auxiliary Chap. 1017 and Alyssa Clement student at C.S.U. South Carolina.

Taps will be presented by Mr. Barney Kuzara. Welcome speech will be given by Mr. Jack Sievert, commander of the D.J.V.C.

This year’s Master-of-Ceremonies is John D’Agostino, OBSERVER publisher. Principal Guest Speaker is Dunkirk’s Mayor Wilfred Rosas.

Principal Speakers are Cdr. George Burns III, U.S.C.G. (Ret.) and Lt. Christopher Wilson, U.S.C.G. Sea Partners Campaign
