Two charged after stop nets two pounds of meth

JAMESTOWN — An investigation into the sales and trafficking of illegal narcotics in the Jamestown area led to the confiscation of 2 pounds of methamphetamine.

A vehicle stop conducted by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and Jamestown Police near the corner of Hazeltine Avenue and Baker Street Monday afternoon led to the discovery. Ernest Cauley, 26, and Zackiel Fields, 22, were both charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

Both are currently awaiting arraignment in city jail. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
