Dunkirk Common Council unanimously passes budget

The end of the city of Dunkirk’s 2018 budget process was just as smooth as the beginning and middle.

At the recent Common Council meeting members voted unanimously on three resolutions solidifying the 2018 budget.

Resolution 111 adopted the budget with council’s amendments. Councilman-at-Large Andy Woloszyn previously explained those amendments included creating new budget lines for capital reserves funds for fire department buildings and a beach cleaner, while still holding the line on taxes.

Also approved were resolutions 112 to approve budget appropriations and resolution 113 authorizing the warrant for the budget.

“Council made some changes, they were minor changes. The budget process I thought went very smoothly. I think we have a very understanding council and I think we have conscientious council members that actually care about the community and I think it went very smoothly,” Mayor Willie Rosas concluded following the meeting.
