HARMONY — A 28-year-old Ashville man was charged with driving while intoxicated and other related charges after falling asleep at the intersection of Baker Street and Route 474 on Saturday, county Sheriff’s Office says.

At 5:34 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of an individual asleep in the roadway when they found Andrew C. Gesaman. During the investigation, deputies state that Gesaman was allegedly intoxicated.

Gesaman was additionally charged with DWI per se, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and stopping/standing on a roadway. Gesaman will appear in Harmony Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
