Evans police find resident growing 119 pot plants
EVANS – A narcotics search warrant by the Evans Police Department found a 50-year-old Evans woman growing 119 marijuana plants in the basement of a Taft Avenue residence on Feb. 15. The department reports that around $1,999 of assessed value was seized in the raid.
Anna M. Frederick was charged for the alleged marijuana possession at 6:09 p.m. Upon entering the building, Frederick was reported to say, “Everything is in the basement.”
In said basement, the plants were found, while the living room contained a small bag of marijuana, police say, and miscellaneous marijuana pipes.
Frederick was charged with unlawful growing of cannabis, unlawful possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana – weight of more than 2 ounces.
Frederick will appear in Evans Town Court in March.
