PORTLAND — An altercation on Route 5 in the town this morning has led to charges.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies the address around 1:35 a.m. and during the investigation it was determined that Stephen Sheldon, 35, got into a physical altercation with the victim. Sheldon was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment, criminal obstruction of breath or blood, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Sheldon was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail on pre-arraignment bail. He is to answer the charges in Portland Town Court on a later date.
