SILVER CREEK — A student-led event fostering awareness and altruism is planned at Silver Creek Elementary School on Tuesday, March 20 along with a Character Strengths Showcase and a visit from a local food truck. These special events are in conjunction with the 2018 Proposed Capital Project Vote in the high school lobby from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The 2nd annual Citizen Activist Expo will feature a range of interactive booths displaying fifth-grade activism in support of Puerto Rico’s challenges after Hurricane Maria. There will be displays of third-grade projects on the states, with the third-graders present to explain. There will also be a station with video displays of fourth-grade continent projects created for the K-2 classes to review, with fourth-graders there to explain from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A Character Strengths Showcase is planned from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the hallway between the band doors and the high school library. The showcase highlights the attributes and traits the district encourages students to develop.
