Incubator continues arts and business luncheon series Thursday

The Fredonia Technology Incubator Arts and Business Luncheon Series continues with Fredonia professor and artist Alberto Rey on Thursday, March 22 from noon to 1 p.m.

“We are excited to continue to offer this series that provides insights on the business side of the arts,” said Incubator Director Chuck Cornell. “Having an accomplished, well-known, artist and entrepreneur like Alberto Rey on site to share experiences is a tremendous opportunity.”

Alberto Rey is a Distinguished Professor at Fredonia as well as an artist and Orvis-endorsed fly fishing guide. Throughout his career Rey has received honors from the University including the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Activities, the Kasling Lecturer Award, and the William T. and Charlotte N. Hagan Young Scholar/Artist Award. He has also served as a panelist for the New York State Council for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts.

His artwork is featured in permanent collections at numerous galleries including the Albright Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, N.Y, the Bronx Museum of the Arts in Bronx, N.Y, and the Museum of Art in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Rey will discuss the evolution of his environmental art and the business of creating his most recent work in Nepal. He will also examine his current investigative project on extinct birds. Alberto says he is “looking forward to discussing my work with members of our community and update them on upcoming projects”.

The Incubator is located at 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY. For more information on the Arts & Business Luncheon Series contact FTI at (716) 680-6009 or incubator@fredonia.edu.
