Two-vehicle accident sends two to hospital
HANOVER — A premature turn caused a two-vehicle accident on Routes 5 and 20 when a driver failed to yield the right of way turning right off of Hanford Road, impacting a driver traveling west on Route 5 on Monday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported.
At 11:39 a.m., 18-year-old Brett Logan, of Drake Avenue in Silver Creek, was traveling southbound on Hanford Road. At the intersection of Hanford Road and Routes 5 and 20, where the car wash is located, he reportedly turned right, without giving the right of way and then collided with a vehicle operated by Alfred Ford, 27, of Fay Street in Brocton.
Also in Ford’s vehicle was Thomas Gagola, 57, of Temple Street in Fredonia.
Both Ford and Gagola were transported to Lake Shore Hospital for minor injuries. The investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending.
