The Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 has an annual project of flying American flags beginning at Memorial Day time. This year, there were 206 American flags out for the village, all purchased by people in memory of loved ones or in honor of a person. The flags were attached to the poles last week, and this Wednesday morning, members of the Legion placed the flags. Shown in the photograph is legion member Rick Haas placing a flag in its holder. The flags will remain on the poles all summer and fall. New flags are put in place each year. Many thanks go to the members of the Cassadaga American Legion for their service to our country and for this special flag project for the people.
