ATV accident sends one to Hamot

CASSADAGA — A medical helicopter was summoned after an all-terrain vehicle accident was reported on a trail near Cassadaga.

The accident was reported around 6 p.m. after a nearby homeowner was approached by someone claiming there had been an incident on Burnham Road. Police were able to locate the scene of the crash and requested medical care.

A fire official with Cassadaga said a man had sustained a serious cut to his head in the accident.

An EMT on scene stated that there will be an investigation by the state police because the accident involved motor vehicles. The victim was air lifted to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania.
