Man with crossbow allegedly robs, threatens family

DEWITTVILLE — Jerome A. Rogerson, 25, of Dewittville was charged with multiple crimes after being accused of robbing and threatening multiple people with a crossbow Tuesday.

Deputies were called to a location on Beech Hill Road for a report of a robbery. Upon further investigation, deputies say that Rogerson threatened multiple subjects with a crossbow and caused damage to a vehicle.

Rogerson also allegedly choked an individual, causing injury, and stopped multiple people from calling 911. He then forcibly took property from a victim and fled the scene.

He was later located, taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua Town Court where he was sent to jail without bail.

Rogerson was charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree menacing, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing.
