Collins Public Library Events for July

The Collins Public Library, located at 3241 Main St., has announced a wide variety of programming for the coming weeks. When registration is required, stop by or call 532-5129. Events include:

Lap Sit with Miss Abbi: Mondays: July 9, 23 and 30 at 10:30 a.m. Join in for this fun program for children ages 6 months to 2 years with a caregiver. A great introduction to early literacy skills with rhymes, finger plays, music, stories and more. Sign up required. Call or stop by.

Tinkering in the Library! Saturday, July 14 at noon. With different rotating activities each month, there will be new things to explore. Fun for the whole family. Sign up needed.

Craft Club: Monday, July 16 at 6 p,m. Ages 4 to 12. Come and make crafts in the Library! Registration is required.

Rainbow Fish Story Hour: Tuesday, July 17 at 6 p.m. Dive into the adventures of the rainbowfish! Relay races, carnival style games, colorful crafts and rainbowfish stories. Best for ages 3-10. Registration requested.

Toddler Time: The next four week session of Toddler Time begins Friday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. Read stories, play games, and sing songs.Registration needed.

Music in the Library Concert Series:Friday, July 20 at 7 p.m. for a performance by P.C. All-Star Big Band.

Computer Class: Saturday, July 21 from noon to 2 p.m. Internet Intermediate. Get beyond Google’s main page and learn what this powerful search tool has to offer. Registration is now open and fills up fast. All classes are free and open to the public.

Book Club: Monday, July 23 at 11 a.m. Discuss “The Rosie Project” by Simsion. Everyone is welcome. Request a copy online or at the Library desk.

LEGO Club: Tuesday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. Come and play with LEGOs in the Library. Staff will put kids’ creations on display in the Library. Ages 4 to 12. Registration is required.

Creative Crafts for Grown Ups: Saturday, July 28 at 1 p.m. Come and make a fun book mark and a greeting card. Ages 18+. All supplies provided but registration is limited.

Bubble Blast: Monday, July 30 at 5:30 p.m. Come and explore the science of soap and suds. Presented by the Buffalo Museum of Science. See simple experiments that set the stage for bubble science! Open to all ages (suggested ages 4 to 10).

Book Donations Needed: The Library is now accepting book donations for the annual book sale. No text books, encyclopedias, Readers Digest Condensed Editions, things that are moldy, or in very poor condition.

Erie County Library cards are available to all Erie County residents, all individuals who work in Erie County, and all those who live in the Gowanda School tax district.
