North Collins Police release May activity

In May, the North Collins Police Officers were on duty for 141 hours. In that time they responded to one animal complaint, two person assists, one vehicle lock-out, one police department assists, two EMS assists, four court details and three parade details.

Regular property checks were conducted of schools, businesses, public property, all town parks and vacant properties. Regular curfew checks were conducted and traffic control details were conducted at the conclusion of church masses in the village and in Langford.

Also in the month of May police issues 38 traffic tickets which included 23 for speeding with speed rates ranging from 47-53 MPH; the average speed in the village’s 35 MPH zone was 49.39 MPH. Two tickets were issued for texting, seven for cell phone violations, one for an expired inspection, two for stop sign violations, one for a red light violation, one for a fractured windshield and one for failure to exhibit a driver’s license.
