Five-hour courses for aspiring motorists set in Silver Creek
SILVER CREEK – The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is offering local residents two opportunities to enroll in its 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Class this fall. The course, which allows students to earn the MV285 certificate needed to sign up for a road test at the DMV, is facilitated via the Community Education division of the Silver Creek Central School District.
The course is being instructed by Tom Herring and will be offered Saturday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Dec. 8 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 182 at the high school. Students MUST bring their learner’s permit (or proof of) as well as their own food and beverages. Registration fee is $30 and a minimum of 8 students is required in order for the class to be held.
To register by mail, send a completed registration form (available at www.silvercreekschools.org by navigating to Community then Community Education) to Silver Creek Central School, P.O. Box 270 Dickinson St., Silver Creek, NY 14136. Checks/money orders may be made out to Silver Creek CS Community Ed. To register by phone, call (716) 951-8111 and leave a message with your name, number and the name of your course. You will NOT receive a confirmation call. If the course is cancelled due to low enrollment you will be called.
