Fugitive arrested after high speed vehicle pursuit

FINDLEY LAKE — Marshall G. Young, 51, of Erie, Pa. was arrested and received multiple charges after he was found to be a fugitive from justice on Monday night.

On Monday at 11:02 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office received a request for assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police Erie Station with a vehicle pursuit, which had entered into New York in the vicinity of Findley Lake. The vehicle operator reportedly lost control traveling east on Route 430 while traveling at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle slid sideways into the westbound land, leaving the roadway and entering a private driveway. The gate at the end of the driveway was damaged by the vehicle. The operator continued to drive the car down the private driveway and entered the lawn, damaging it. Once the operator came to the edge of a wooded area, he stopped and was taken into custody.

Upon investigating the operator, who was identified as Young, it was discovered that he was wanted out of Erie County Pennsylvania for failure to appear. Young was arraigned in Mina Court for being a fugitive from justice, driving while ability impaired by drugs, reckless driving, speed not reasonable, failure to keep right, unlicensed operation and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Additional charges are pending in New York along with various Pennsylvania charges, which will be forthcoming.
