Opera House to participate in Feeding Fredonia Challenge

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House is participating in the Feeding Fredonia Challenge and will have collection boxes placed in the lobby at several events scheduled Oct. 15 through Oct. 20.

Patrons are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the:

Tuesday, Oct. 16, Cinema Series screening of “Pick of the Litter” at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 17, multimedia lecture, The Great Depression: The Civilian Conservation Corps in Panama at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 20, presentation of Live at the Met’s Samson et Dalila at 1 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 20, Dan Berggren Folk Concert at 7:30 p.m.

Items collected will be given to the Fredonia Food Pantry at the Fredonia Presbyterian Church. The community-wide goal is to collect 2.25 tons of food for neighbors in need!

Food items recommended include beans, canned fruits, canned meats, canned vegetables, cereal, coffee, dry milk, peanut butter, jelly, rice, soup, spaghetti sauce and pasta (but all donations will be accepted).
