Westfield man charged in marijuana-growing operation
WESTFIELD — An illegal marijuana-growing operation has been snuffed out in the village and a 64-year-old resident has been charged.
Westfield police reported this morning it investigated with the Southern Tier Drug Task Force a residence at 104 E. Main St. last month. Units gained entry through a search warrant and allegedly found multiple rooms in the structure containing marijuana growing.
After the search was completed, John D. Stratton was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and growing of the plant known as cannibis without a license.
Stratton was arraigned on Friday and released to return to court at a later date.
