Evans comprehensive plan details still in holding pattern
ANGOLA — The Evans town comprehensive plan remains in a holding pattern.
Last week, board members tabled the item after Roberta Rappoccio, director of Planning for the town, spoke on its impact on both the town and village of Angola. The more than two-hour exchange between various town residents and the board centered on the main issue of a zoning map versus land-use map. The main sticking point many residents in the town had was over Eden-Evans Center Road and its future in the town.
On the land-use map it’s zoned for agriculture and light industrial. Many in the room said the plan went too far in the zoning for that road. In the end, Councilwoman Jeanne Macko motioned to table the resolution with Council member Michael Schraft agreeing. Supervisor Mary Hosler voted “no” on the tabling.
The next Town of Evans board meeting will be on Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.
