Leon Historical Society hosts Snowman Party
A great time was had by all at the Leon Historical Society’s Quilting Party. The group met at 8:30 a.m. and fired up the sewing machines after some coffee and donut. There was a great deal of cutting, stitching, gluing, ironing, basting and quilting.
In the end, it was all worth it. Everyone had a few snowmen on a wall or door hanging to take home.
The Leon Historical Society meets the last Monday of the month at the old 1836 church on Route 62 in Leon. The group hosts Quilting Parties from time to time and this next spring look for the Old Time Quilt Squares. The group will be making the square and learning the history behind the different patterns as they put it all together. Watch for them in the coming events section and/or call Pat Bromley at 296-5709 or Myra Johnston at 257-5272.
