GHS Visual Arts students selected for exhibition, awarded scholarships to Daemen

A half-dozen Visual Arts students at Gowanda High School learned their work was accepted into the 50th annual All High Exhibition following a Feb. 10 announcement by the Department for the Visual and Performing Arts at Daemen College. Three of those young artists were awarded scholarships as well.

Congratulations to the six Gowanda students whose work was accepted: senior Julianna Grudzien, junior James Keller, junior Alyscia Le-Tran, senior Alicia Pszczola, senior April Pszczola and junior Lilly Redeye.

This juried competition is open to all high school juniors and seniors enrolled in secondary art programs throughout the region. The exhibition will be on display in the Tower Gallery until this Friday.

The three artists who were awarded annually renewable scholarships to Daemen, won the following categories:

¯ Best in Show to Lilly Redeye: $3,000 scholarship.

¯ Best Three-dimensional Work to Alicia Pszczola: $2,000 scholarship.

¯ Honorable Mention to Julianna Grudzien: $1,000 scholarship.
