Hospital continues to promote patient safety

By adopting new and better technology like the Trophon 2 unit for medical device reprocessing, Westfield Memorial Hospital continues to promote patient safety, advance best practices and improve efficiency. The radiology department has launched the use of Trophon 2 high-level disinfection units for ultrasound probes. Revealing the newest equipment for the first time at WMH is, from left, Valarie Jackson, WMH president, WMH Radiology Supervisor, Lara Whitesell, (the person responsible for imaging at the community hospital) along with hospital foundation leaders Patricia Gaughan DiPalma, WMH Foundation (WMHF) executive director, and Kathryn Bronstein, WMHF president. Funding for the Trophon 2 Ultrasound Disinfection Unit was provided through the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Annual Campaign. “We are truly thankful for the dedication and continued support of our numerous community donors who clearly value and support Westfield Memorial Hospital and its foundation,” said Dr. Bronstein. “Since WMH Foundation was founded more than 40 years ago, it has been a vibrant and vital part of the healthcare landscape in Chautauqua County,” said Patricia DiPalma. WMH President Valarie Jackson also remarked, “This new equipment exemplifies the significant patient care impact which results from the treasured donor support of the foundation.”
