Morning mishaps keep crews busy

Responders were on Dale Drive near Lily Dale this morning.

Two accidents this morning had area emergency crews on the move.

At 7:45 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on Dale Drive in Cassadaga. When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with Elizabeth J. Johnson and Timothy Lahue, both of Warren. Johnson, 41, was driving her vehicle when she lost control due to an unsafe speed for the icy road conditions causing her vehicle to exit the road and strike a tree.

She was evaluated at the scene and refused EMS treatment. Lahue, 53, was evaluated at the scene and flown via Starflight to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment of a head injury.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Cassadaga Fire Department and the Fredonia Fire Department. Johnson was ticketed for speed not reasonable or prudent. She will be in the Town of Pomfret Court at a later date to answer the charge.

About 15 minutes later, a rollover accident was reported on Stockton-Hartfield Road in Stockton. Starflight was called to transport the person injured in the accident. Also responding was Dewittville and Stockton fire departments as well as Chautauqua County EMS.
