Cassadaga Valley school appoints Fredonia AD as new principal

Scot Stutzman

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley middle-high school has a new principal.

During the recent CVCS School Board meeting, Scot Stutzman was appointed to the position of middle-high school principal.

Stutzman most recently served as the assistant high school principal at the Fredonia Central School District since 2009, where he also held the position of athletic director for the past three years.

Following a comprehensive search process, Stutzman was selected by the board based on his extensive experience as an administrator and his record of service on behalf of the students, parents and staff members with whom he has worked. He will officially assume his new position with the district Feb. 13.

Stutzman, who was in attendance with his wife, Molly, and children, Logan and Reagan, expressed his gratitude to the board and eagerness to begin working with the district in his new capacity.

“I just want to thank Mr. (Charles) Leichner (superintendent), the board and the community for this opportunity,” Stutzman said. “The interview process was tremendous; you’ve got a very nice team here. So I’m excited about being here, and I can’t tell you how honored I am.”

Additional personnel items on the agenda included the appointment of current middle-high school principal Joshua Gilevski to the role of elementary school principal, beginning Feb. 10, and the resignation of current Sinclairville Elementary School principal Jill Benedict, effective Feb. 13.
