Fredonia board hires assistant high school principal
The Fredonia Central School District will soon have a new face join its administrative team.
The board of education — during a recent meeting — unanimously hired Daniel Parker to a four-year probationary position as assistant high school principal, commencing March 20. Parker’s salary will be $75,000 prorated for the remainder of the school year.
“Dan Parker went through the comprehensive process; we found him to be outstanding as a candidate for our assistant principalship,” High School Principal Darrin Paschke remarked. “I think he’s going to be a great addition to our team and we’re looking forward to getting started with him.”
Parker currently teaches at Holland Central School. He has taught there for 15 years and served as dean of students.
Superintendent Paul DiFonzo noted he was impressed with Parker when he had the chance to interview him.
“He seems like he genuinely cares about students, he’s been in leadership roles (and) I think he will be a good teammate for Mr. Paschke over in the high school,” he added. “With his background in high school and everything he had to offer, I thought he was the best candidate.”
Board President Michael Bobseine mentioned the board is looking forward to working with him.
Parker replaces Scot Stutzman, who resigned to take up a job as principal at Cassadaga Valley Middle-High School.
