Dunkirk man charged in Jamestown armed robbery

JAMESTOWN — An armed robbery in the area of East Sixth and Spring streets Tuesday has landed a Dunkirk man in jail.

Jamestown police were notified of the robbery shortly before 3 p.m., and were told by a victim he was robbed at knife-point by a man who fled the scene on foot with another man.

Officers located the man, identified as 46-year-old Daryl T. Coleman, walking with another man on Prendergast Avenue.

Coleman, who allegedly possessed one of the stolen items, was linked to the robbery and charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was taken to Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment. Police said Coleman is also on parole and facing a parole violation.
