RUDE AWAKENING: Driver survives

Submitted Photo by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. On Thursday, a man who fell asleep at the wheel was lucky to wake up — even if he found himself upside down, suspended by his seatbelt. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported that Brice Little, 29, of Mayville, fell asleep while driving on East Lake Road in the town of Chautauqua at about 3 p.m. Allegedly, his vehicle left the north shoulder of the roadway and entered a field. The vehicle then proceeded westbound through the field, where it struck a group of trees, overturned and came to rest. Little was treated at the scene by Hartfield and Mayville first responders before being airlifted by Starflight to UPMC Hamot for observation of non-life threatening injuries. This incident serves as a reminder to wake up and buckle up before getting behind the wheel.
