There are some big names taking part in a fundraiser for Carly’s Club in Dunkirk this Saturday.

Rick Kozlowski, coordinator for the Gifts of Love and Hope, said the event will take place from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Rookies on the Lake on Lake Shore Drive. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to help children with cancer of Carly’s Club.

“Carly’s Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute exists to offer support programs for children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer and their families as well as to offer hope for a cure through research seeking cures at Roswell Park,” Kozlowski said. “Incredible progress has been made over the past 30 years in the treatment and survival rates of children with cancer. However, until we achieve 100 percent cure rates for all kids with cancer, I promise to do my part to support Carly’s Club and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.”

Music for the event will be provided by The Freeze from 2 to 6 p.m., Katie & Jack from 6 to 9 p.m. and Black Widow from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. A face painter and caricature artist also will be in attendance.

In addition, internationally known musicians Sarah McLachlan, Lady Antebellum and Kelsea Ballerini will have autographed guitars that will be part of a number of raffles and 100 prizes that will be given away. Other items include a 50-inch Vizio television from Walmart, autographed Sabres jerseys, overnight hotel stays, merchandise and gift cards.

Also, pizza and wings will be available all day with a $5 donation at the door. Children are free.

“I was inspired to get directly involved with Roswell Park Cancer Institute after my father, Richard Kozlowski Sr., passed away from cancer years ago,” Kozlowski said. “Although my father lived long past his childhood, I am determined to do what I can to support children battling this terrible disease.”
