Jurors reportedly far apart as deliberation continues for Saeli

MAYVILLE – After spending nearly four hours deliberating Thursday, jurors returned to the deliberation room this morning in the Samuel Saeli alleged kidnapping case.

The jury comprised of five men and seven women were reportedly “deadlocked” and far apart when they left the deliberation room Thursday.

The judge received a request from the jury for a copy of the five elements of kidnapping. The defense and prosecution had no objections to the jury’s request. A copy of the five elements were subsequently given to the jury.

Jurors returned to the deliberation room around 10:15 a.m.

Saeli is facing a second-degree kidnapping charge. He’s also facing a sexual motivated felony related to the alleged kidnapping of a 13-year-old autistic boy, which occurred at Walmart during the evening of Aug. 14, 2016.
