GOWANDA — As the moment of a final goodbye came close, the Gowanda Board of Education wanted to give a positive send off to its Director of Finance and Support Services Joelle Woodward. School Board President Cynthia Sutherland presented a gift to the numbers guru at Gowanda.

“We are certainly going to miss you and we would like to give you something special because it was made here in our own shop,” Sutherland said.

Woodward opened the gift to see a tile-like square with the Gowanda Panthers logo glazed on its facade.

“I am not saying goodbye because that would just not be pretty,” Woodward said. “So, I am just going to say I appreciate everything that Gowanda and the board as a whole has afforded me the opportunities over the last 10 plus years and it’s been a pleasure. It’s become my home. Just thank you and I am going to miss everybody.”

Woodward accepted a job at Cassadaga Valley Central School District.
