The Fredonia Police Department concluded a burglary investigation with the arrest of Walter E. Barnard of Dunkirk.

It is alleged that Barnard unlawfully entered the business of “The Sewers Choice” on Bennett Road in the village of Fredonia, in the early hours of the morning, in early May, and stole more than $3,000 worth of merchandise.

Barnard was located by the City of Dunkirk Police, and taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant for burglary and grand larceny, issued by the Village of Fredonia Court. Barnard was turned over to the Fredonia Police, arraigned in the Village of Fredonia Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail, pending a preliminary hearing.
